Sunil Grover On His Multiple Heart Surgeries: 'When You’re Lying In ICU, Take Help Of Another Person, You Realise How Lucky You Have Been All This While’
In a recent interview, comedian Sunil Grover opens up about undergoing four bypass surgeries
Ace comedian Sunil Grover in a recent interview has opened up about undergoing multiple heart surgeries. For the unversed, in February this year, Sunil was admitted to Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai where he underwent four bypass surgeries. He was diagnosed with a ‘very minor heart episode (NSTEMI) after his heart enzyme (troponin T) level was elevated.’ His condition worsened as Sunil also tested positive for Covid-19. The comedian recalled the time when he was lying in ICU and needed another person’s help to do the basic things.
Speaking to Etimes TV, Sunil talked about the importance of being grateful even for the smallest of things we do in our daily lives. The actor also admitted that he was 'caught up in the routine of work commitments and that he was not grateful enough'. “But I have realised now that gratitude is important. If you can drink water when you want, you are lucky, if you can sit up on your bed by yourself, you are lucky, if you can walk to the bathroom without anyone’s help, you are lucky,” Sunil was quoted as saying. He went on to add, “When you are lying in the ICU, and having to take the help of another person for these small little things that you take for granted every day, that is when you realise how lucky you have been all this while. Once that realisation strikes, everything else fame, career, money feels like a bonus! After this experience, I would like to tell everyone to take care of our health, be grateful for what we have and live with love. .. that’s about it.”
Reportedly, Grover completed his web series despite blockages in his heart went for the surgery after wrapping up the show.
On the professional front, Sunil is widely known for playing the characters- Gutthi and Dr Mashoor Gulati on The Kapil Sharma Show. He has also appeared in several Hindi films such as Akshay Kumar's ‘Gabbar Is Back’, Salman Khan's Bharat, Ghajini, Dev D and Tiger Shroff starrer Baaghi. He was last seen in the ZEE5 original web series Sunflower, which also starred Ranvir Shorey, Girish Kulkarni, Shonali Nagrani, Sonal Jha, and Ashish Vidyarthi.
